U.S. Upfitters is always looking to do things outside of the box to meet the needs of our customers.  When Jake Thomas, Director of Global Service Operations at Generac, approached Dan Shelhamer, Vice President at U.S. Upfitters of Wisconsin, about upfitting a custom trailer to take to their national convention, Dan and his sales team jumped at the chance.  “Trailers are a great alternative for contractors, both big and small, during the vehicle shortage we are currently in.  We knew we had a good opportunity to get some eyes on this thing and really show what we can do,” Dan said.

”It was a great show and great to be back in person after everything being virtual last year,” said Jake.  The convention had over 2,000 attendees.

The sales team in Wisconsin worked with Jake and Generac to create an environment that met the needs of the installers that would be working in it.  Working with local vendors for the electrical and custom parts of the trailer, like the packing table, wire spool, and cabinets, you can also see material from some of U.S. Upfitters’ vendors, Ranger Design and Weatherguard.

 

“When you look at the finished product, you can really see the talent our installers have and the ability our company has to deviate from the typical ‘three shelves and a partition.’  There wasn’t a part of this trailer our install team didn’t touch,” said Dan.

“I have a trailer but not as fancy and well thought out as this one,” commented one attendee. 

“You guys really went all in on this, and it shows!”, said another.

 The custom wire spool rack had multiple inquiries.

 

Generac commented that they had multiple offers to buy the trailer outright! It is safe to say that didn’t happen and U.S. Upfitters looks forward to continuing our partnership with Generac across the country.
