Road Runner Media, a DOOH media company, has partnered with smart infrastructure solutions provider Siemens to deploy rear-facing digital media panels on technician’s vans across the U.S. The screens will serve as a digital brake light and turn indicator while also providing public service announcements and advertisements, according to a press release.

The 46-inch HD LCD display can alert drivers when backing up or by putting on emergency flashers. The screens are visible during both day and night and can also display Amber Alerts. Siemens plans to have 1,000 Road Runner Screens deployed on vans by the end of the year.

“The commitment Siemens has made to significantly expand their fleet of Road Runner-equipped vans is a tremendous validation of our network as we continue to scale and expand,” Chris Riley, CEO, Road Runner, said in the release. “With Road Runner digital screens installed and operational, Siemens will help enhance their own drivers’ safety, and road safety in general, reducing insurance costs for the company while also sharing relevant and timely messaging with the traveling public. We are excited to have the opportunity to extend and advance this global strategic partnership.”
