So, you just bought a new van.  Well, maybe not “new.”  It’s new to you but has had an owner or two.  You may have a gray partition in it with wooden slats on the walls.  You may have a rusted ladder rack or a beat up floor.  How do you get this thing on the road so you can make money?

U.S. Upfitters specializes in helping you answer that question without breaking the bank.  Below are some steps you can take to make sure you are getting the most out of your “new” van:

  1. CALL US!
U.S. Upfitters has one of the best sales teams in the industry.  When you call us, you will talk to a person that has the resources to answer all of your questions and with our network, if we can’t do the work, we will find someone who can help you out.  Plus, you are guaranteed to talk to a real life human and never a machine (unless its after hours)!

We will be able to get you in the right shelving package, steps, lights, etc.  Oh yea, our phone number is 1800-377-5652.

  2. MAKE SURE YOUR VAN IS IN SHAPE
When buying a used van, you are more than likely going to have some wear and tear on the floor, especially if there was no mat to begin with.  Make sure you are inspecting for holes, water, and other surface level damages before you start an install.  If there are any holes, our install team can plug and seal them to prevent further damage.  Our sales team can guide you on what floor would be the best fit for your van to create a “like new” surface.  If you have one of the used transits that are floating around, a great option is the new Evolve Floor by Legend Fleet Solutions, a lightweight, reliable surface to maximize productivity on the job.  You can view the rest of our cargo floors by clicking here.

  3. FIND THE RIGHT LADDER RACK
We had a customer recently that came to us and told us how hard it was to find a van just to get him on the road.  He worked for himself and was adding another guy who needed a vehicle.  He found one and it needed a ladder rack to carry longer ladder plus material.  The vehicle actually came with the ladder rack you see below:

The original ladder rack off the used lot

With the rack being as old as it was and its utility not matching what the customer needed, although not in “terrible” shape (our sales team has seen much worse), the customer was right in wanting to spend the money to make sure he got the right rack.  He ended up going with a Topper Ladder Rack, which you can view below:

We hadn’t cleaned the roof for him yet.

These are just a few examples of what we can do to make your van serviceable.  We haven’t gotten into what we can do with lights, shelving options etc.  The customer went away happy and hopefully can get a bunch of years out his “new” van.  In the Commercial Truck and Van market in 2022, that’s about all you can ask for.  Make sure to head to inlad.com so you can go away happy too.
